Return Policy for iGem Corporation

We want our customers to have a pleasant and satisfactory experience with iGem Corporation and the products we distribute, and we ask that all potential customers familiarize themselves with our Return Policy before finalizing a purchase.

Our Promise to Our Customers:

It is iGem Corporation’s promise that you will receive the exact item that you purchase in its stated condition, and we will not substitute merchandise unless specifically arranged by the purchaser. (See below for substitutions)

General Return Policy within the United States:

Electronic gold testers are not eligible to be returned as soon as buyer uses them. Please contact the manufacturer for the warranty service, if such service is required.

If you are not satisfied with your item(s) from iGem Corporation, you may return your item(s) for a refund within 14 days (two calendar weeks) from the date of delivery after obtaining a Return Authorization from us (see below). After 14 days, you can contact the manufacturer regarding returns at the corresponding contact information listed below. Refunds will exclude the cost of shipping, handling, gift packaging, or other applicable charges. If you received discounted or free shipping with your offer, the difference between actual shipping costs and costs charged to you will be deducted from the refund amount. Non-defective items will be subject to a Restocking fee (below). Returned merchandise must include entire package, along with contents, documents, and Proof of Purchase in order for the refund to be honored. Please read the entire product description—items that do not fall within the manufacturer’s return/exchange policies cannot be accepted for returns/refunds. See our information on defective or damaged items below.

Customers Outside of the United States:

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns from customers outside the United States.

Restocking Fee

There will be a 15% Restocking Fee on all non-defective items (20% on testing equipment). At our sole discretion, we may accept your exchange request for an item of equal or greater value, and we may waive the restocking fee.

Condition of Merchandise:

All merchandise returned for refund or exchange must be in its original condition with all its original packaging, and it must be without damage or blemishes, have the tag still attached (if applicable), and must be accompanied with all documents, manufacturers packaging and proof of purchase, otherwise it will not be acceptable for refund/exchange.

Return Authorization:

You must obtain a Return Authorization (RMA) by contacting iGem before returning your item(s). We will not accept any merchandise for returns or exchanges without iGem Corporation’s Return Authorization. The Return Authorization is valid for 10 (ten) calendar days, and after this 10-day period it will become invalid and you will have forfeited your return rights completely. If you do not return your item within the validated 10-day RMA period, we will not accept your item.

How to Ship Returns:

After you’ve received an RMA and have made sure you’ve packaged the item along with the aforementioned contents, you (the purchaser) will be responsible for prepaid shipment on any returned merchandise through a traceable carrier, such as Federal Express or United Parcel Service (UPS), as well as insuring all merchandise for its full purchase price. If these guidelines are not met, iGem Corporation cannot be held responsible for items that are “lost” or sent in a fashion other than the guidelines described above.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that iGem Corporation is not responsible for any item that it does not receive or returned merchandise that is not accordance with these terms.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware, that shipping, handling, gift packaging or any other applicable charges are not refundable.

Damaged/Defective Merchandise:

If you receive a damaged, defective, missing or incorrect items in your order, contact us within 3 days of receipt of item. If you receive merchandise from the shipper with extensive damage to its packaging upon arrival, refuse the order and contact us immediately. Please have your order number available when you contact us. In such an event, we recommend that you contact the shipper immediately to report the damaged goods.

All claims about  damaged, defective, missing or incorrect items in your order will be declined if received later than 3 days after delivery of your order to you.

Refusal of Packages


If you refuse a package of your order from the shipper, for any reason other than extensive damage to the package itself, you will be subject to a 20% restocking fee as well as the shipping charges for return back to us.  

Wrong Item:

In the rare event that iGem Corporation makes a mistake and sends you the wrong item, you will be entitled to a Replacement with proper item with return shipping charges paid by iGem Instruments.

Substitutions:

If the purchaser requests a substitution, iGem Corporation may accommodate the request; however, substitutions must be made prior to checkout and will incur an additional handling fee.

Outside of iGem’s Warranty Period:

If you want to return an item more than 14 days after you received it from iGem Corporation, you will have to request a Return Authorization from the item’s manufacturer.
